The Selectis Serenity XL 61061AB is a digital alternating pressure, low air loss mattress for larger people, with raised air bolsters along both long edges. The bolsters mark where the sleep surface ends, and a caregiver can let the air out of them when they are not wanted. It is the 42 x 80 inch Serenity XL with bolsters added.

It measures 42 x 80 inches with 10 inch air cells and is rated for 660 lb, so it suits a 42 inch expandable or bariatric bed set to 80 inches. Measure the bed deck first: the mattress should cover it edge to edge.

The digital panel sets the cycle and pressure, and a lock-out stops anyone changing the settings by accident.

Four cycle times: choose 10, 15, 20 or 25 minutes between pressure shifts, and set pressure by the person's weight
Static, max firm and seat inflate: hold the surface steady for transfers, firm it up for repositioning, or add support under the hips when sitting up
Alarms and CPR valve: lights and sounds flag low pressure, alternation problems or a power failure, and the CPR valve deflates the mattress fast

Rubber panels on the heavy duty bottom cover keep the mattress from sliding on the frame. Quick-release tubing disconnects it from the pump for cleaning or moving. The quilted cover resists fluids, lets moisture vapor through and wipes clean. Set the pump where its hose reaches without pulling, and keep the hose clear of the bed frame as the head and height move. A deeper mattress with bolsters sits higher on the bed, so check that any rails you use still rise well above the sleep surface.
